I received the following message and reports from friend and colleague the saintly Ari Michelsen, who was the main coordinator of the IWRM sessions at the WWF, along with Francois Brelle. Talk about herding cats!
Attached below is the 6th World Water Forum, Summary Report for Priority for Action 2.1 Balancing Multiple Uses Through Integrated Water Resources Management.
The Summary Report is a short (7 page) synopsis of this Thematic Priority’s overall and individual Target’s key messages and commitments and includes Internet links to more detailed reports and sources of information. The Secretariat’s Office drafted and requested Summary Reports and asked for the sections to be kept to about 15 lines of text. You’ll notice some of the sections are a bit longer – it was very difficult to shorten the messages with so much to say and the large contributions provided by so may people. We apologize for any errors or omissions which may have occurred in compiling comments from many of you and in editing this report.
Below is the PFA 2.1 “Final Report” which contains more detailed material (23 pages) covering each of the Target sessions.
Additional PFA 2.1 information, publications and reports are available here.
Here are the Post-Forum Highlights of the entire Forum, a new publication.
We encourage you to share these reports and Thematic Priority information with your session’s speakers, panelists and participants and also other people and organizations who have an interest in IWRM and Balancing Multiple Uses (and sources) of water.
Finally, I would like to again express my deep appreciation and thanks to all of you. Your contributions are what made this Priority and the Forum such a great success!
