Happy Friday the 13th! Third one of the year, exactly 13 weeks apart, rather rare. Must be the Mayan thing - have the last year go out with a bang.
It's been a great week since I returned from Central America. Just learned that the pipe has started to arrive for
the ACJF water project in Los Mejias, Honduras. The system should be built by the end of this month.
I also attended four amazing thesis/dissertation defenses.
In a few days I will be posting the PPT presentation and link to Patrick MacQuarrie's excellent PhD dissertation, Resilience and Capacity Building on Large River Basins: Applying Social-Ecological Systems Theory, Conflict Management, and Collaboration on the Mekong and Columbia River Basins.
Impressive students!
Note: to access a story, click on the link beginning with 'http://', 'is.gd', or 'bit.ly'. Clicking on a link beginning with '@' will take you to that person's Twitter account; clicking on a link beginning with '#' will take you to a Twitter list containing Tweets about a particular topic.
Some items may not have a hot link to a story, which is fine - it may have been just an informational item or a personal message to someone. Or, I may have screwed up and forgotten the link!
Enjoy!
