It's been a great week since I returned from Central America. Just learned that the pipe has started to arrive for
the ACJF water project in Los Mejias, Honduras. The system should be built by the end of this month.
I also attended four amazing thesis/dissertation defenses.
In a few days I will be posting the PPT presentation and link to Patrick MacQuarrie's excellent PhD dissertation, Resilience and Capacity Building on Large River Basins: Applying Social-Ecological Systems Theory, Conflict Management, and Collaboration on the Mekong and Columbia River Basins.
Note: to access a story, click on the link beginning with 'http://', 'is.gd', or 'bit.ly'. Clicking on a link beginning with '@' will take you to that person's Twitter account; clicking on a link beginning with '#' will take you to a Twitter list containing Tweets about a particular topic.
Some items may not have a hot link to a story, which is fine - it may have been just an informational item or a personal message to someone. Or, I may have screwed up and forgotten the link!

“Baby, it’s hot outside. If it wasn’t for the refreshing cold front pushing through parts of the U.S. right now, one might be tempted to think there is something to all that global warming nonsense that conveniently breaks out every time it is warm enough for a climate change alarmist to break out in a sweat.” - Susan Stamper Brown 11 July 2012 (thanks to Mark Boslough)
