I will be heading to Chile early Saturday (6 AM), doing the three-flight
itinerary (Portland > Houston > Panama City > Santiago) that will get me to Santiago about 6 AM Sunday morning.
I am a member of a five-person panel (lone hydrologist) reviewing proposals for a Chilean climate-change center to be funded by CONICYT (English version), an agency equivalent to the US National Science Foundation. We reviewed seven proposals online and eliminated two; the remaining five will give presentations, then we'll deliberate and make our recommendations. Should be fun.
I arrive in Portland about 8:30 PM on 8 September. I doubt I will be doing much Tweeting and blogging next week, but I expect to do another one of these next week.
