Back to Oregon and 'Water, Rivers and Creeks'

I made it back safely via United Airlines and am 'digesting' the experiences of the past week at IAH 2012. It was throughly enjoyable.

I will take me a few days to finish my IAH 2012 reporting. I have a class for which to prepare (we start late at OSU - Monday is the first day of classes): Introduction to Water Science and Policy. It is a junior-level class designed for the non-specialist and a synthesis course (Science, Technology, and Society) in the University's Baccalaureate Core curriculum. It's a fun class - some bright folks in there, and embarrassing questions are always asked.

I am using a different book this year - Water, Rivers and Creeks by the renowned hydrologist, the late Luna B. Leopold. (Aldo's son, born in Albuquerque). Doesn't seem to have the title that would appeal to a hydrogeologist (It does have a chapter on groundwater) but it is certainly apropos for western Oregon. Read some reviews here.
