Tuesday Twofer: Climate Change, Then and Now (Thank You, Photoshop, For a Teachable Moment)

This was sent around on Twitter. I believe @THunterJ is the original source. I received it via a number of others. But according to John Fleck, the 1977 cover is Photoshopped. I believe him.

Nice try!

Although the photo is faked, it does illustrate a good point: it was not too long ago that we were concerned with a new Ice Age descending upon us. I recall having in-class discussions about this when I was a geology major in the late 1960s. 

And keep in mind, that some parts of the world may indeed suffer a 'new Ice Age' because of global warming. Sound goofy? See my earlier post and this one from NASA (where the graphic came from).

So we may be able to have it both ways.

The more we fear change, the more it remains the same! I remember talk of ice age too!
