Okay, so my German is not nearly as good as Pat's.
Here is a somewhat subdued, almost conciliatory Pat Mulroy speaking about collaborating with Western water users, Nevada's daunting water issues, unanticipated infrastructure demands, hoping for snow, compounded problems, and her approach to problem solving.
What you'll see in the video will be light years away from the image shown to the right - a defiant Mulroy standing in her now-defunct pipeline, with that "Yeah, just try to stop me!" countenance. That was from her 'Chosen One' period.
Think there are now milk and cookies at SNWA Board meetings?
"What makes the desert beautiful is that somewhere it hides a well." ~Antoine de Saint-Exupery
She talks about recent times being "... one of the ugliest droughts we've seen in a long time. For us, it is the single biggest issue. I mean, we had enough water supply put together in the year 2000 to last us for 50 years. By 2002 it was all gone. We had NO future resources."
Is it Witchcraft-Derived "SCIENCE" that sponsors studies forecasting 50 years-worth of "resources" which are depleted in the Real World in only 2 years?
She talks about the "disconnect" between "conservation program" goals and economic/consumption goals. Good luck, Pat Mulroy.

Love her or hate her - You have to respect the fact that she is trying to play the hand she has been dealt.
Las Vegas is not the only city to get its water from Lake Mead. Boulder City also obtains its water from the same source (taken at Hoover Dam - not the Lake Mead intakes).
It would be interesting to see if Boulder City was exempt from the restrictions placed by the Colorado River Compact. Boulder City was a 'government camp' and the water used by it may have never been factored into the big picture.
Consider if this loop hole existed. All Pat needs to do is to have Las Vegas annexed by Boulder City. Problem solved.
Just a thought.
