Mekong River Sunset - Lao PDR

Aaron Wolf's PhD student Jennifer Veilleux just emailed this picture of her first sunset Photo on the Mekong River. The left bank (south) is Thailand and the right bank is the Lao PDR (aka Laos).

Good news from the field: the Lao government has given her permission to conduct field research and offered to send her out with an escort. She is interviewing all week in the capital and feels that she can put together a robust case study here.

Previously she was in Ethiopia and is now writing a paper on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.
